Oct 10    Chamber Cash Information Session
Chamber Cash is the new Howell Area Chamber of Commerce member benefit that keeps money local and brings new sales RIGHT TO YOUR DOORSTEP. This exciting certificate program is beginning just in time for the upcoming holiday shopping and gift-giving season.

Why should you accept Chamber Cash?
1. It’s SUPER EASY to purchase Chamber Cash online from our website, Howell.org.

2. It is even easier for you, the merchant, to sign up, accept and redeem Chamber Cash.

3. Rather than the usual bank and chain business gift cards, your Chamber Cash gift keeps money local, benefits chamber businesses, and shows how much you value and support your community.

4. Chamber Cash is ideal to use to thank employees for a job well done throughout the year, AND for gifts during the holidays.

5. Other areas in Michigan using this program have reported selling over $20,000 in certificates in their first year – don’t you want a piece of that pie?

6. Additionally you can advertise your business on each certificate sold.  There are a limited number of advertising spaces available, and they’ll be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

What does it cost?
There is a one-time set-up fee of $45 and an ongoing participation fee of 8% per certificate face value, which covers the operational and marketing costs of the program and all credit card fees.

That’s it! There’s no expensive equipment or deep discounting.

We’re announcing Chamber Cash to our community during our annual Open House to celebrate Michigan Chamber of Commerce Month on Thursday, Oct. 23. But we’re starting to sign up participating retailers now. If you’re interested in participating in the Chamber Cash program, there are two informational meetings for potential participants at the chamber, 123 E. Washington St. in downtown Howell, on Friday, Oct. 10, at 8:30 am and 10: 30 am. We’ll be happy to sign you up then.

Oct 23    Chamber Month Open House
Chamber of Commerce Month in Michigan recognizes chambers for the roles they play in their local communities, their work as advocates for business, and their dedication to the improvement of their communities.

The Howell chamber has four lines of business: advocacy, community improvement, member services and economic development. Formed in 1949, the chamber has grown from a small, strictly volunteer organization to a membership base of approximately 700, with a staff of seven.

“Since 1949, the Howell chamber has led Livingston County on business, economic and quality of life issues,” Convery said. “Today, our members and the community continue to support the chamber in its efforts to represent business interests throughout the area.”

Three lucky chamber members attending the annual Chamber of Commerce open house at the Howell chamber will win a featured spot on the cover of the chamber’s annual membership guide. In addition, they will be featured on the inside of the guide.

The event will also introduce the new Chamber Cash gift certificate program to the membership.
