Job Description
Purpose: 
To provide administrative support for to the President and Chamber events. To greet visitors and provide them with requested information and/or direction
 
Essential Functions:
  1. Greet and direct visitors, in person, on the phone, and through the mail.
  2. Provide information that is requested and available, or give directions where to find the requested information.
  3. Maintain information sources.
  4. Provide clerical support.
  5. Handle all functions related to mail, including sorting, internal distribution, delivery, and bulk mailings.
  6. Maintain office machinery, petty cash, and supplies.
  7. Obtain quotes for building maintenance needs and repairs as directed by president.
  8. Coordinate Chamber sponsored events, facilities and programs as assigned.
  9. Other responsibilities as assigned.
 
Position Objectives:
  1. To ensure visitors are satisfied and happy with the service/information provided.
  2. To maintain current sources of information.
  3. To properly sort incoming mail in a timely manner.
  4. To meet the needs of the individuals being supported.
  5. To achieve successful events/programs.
  6. To keep office machines functional and supplies available.
  7. To maintain a good public image and make a good impression as a Chamber employee.
 
Measured By:
  1. Payments received are disbursed to staff in timely manner for processing.
  2. Mailings going out on time.
  3. Office machinery functioning properly.
  4. Successful accomplishment of Chamber events/programs.
  5. Maintaining up-to-date information.
  6. Cooperation with and feedback from the community, co-workers, members and board.
 
 
 
Minimum Education:
High school education or equivalent.
 
Minimum Experience:
Two years experience as a receptionist or administrative support required.  Receptionist office experience preferred.
 
Minimum Skills Required:
  1. Excellent verbal communication skills. 
  2. Operation of a multi-line telephone system. 
  3. Basic computer knowledge.
  4. Outgoing friendly personality.
  5. Strong organizational skills.
  6. The ability to handle multiple tasks.
  7. Knowledge of ChamberMaster and QuickBooks is preferred
 
Minimum Physical Expectations:
  1. The position requires physical activity that includes keyboarding, sitting, phone work and filing.                      
  2. The position requires physical activity that includes limited travel and lifting under 25 lbs.           
  3. The position requires physical activity that occasionally requires exposure to weather conditions.
