“The State of Manufacturing in Livingston County"
The manufacturing community in Livingston County is growing and we all want to know what the new projects are, the growth, the responsibility and what we can all anticipate. As these projects grow, so will our community and the need for educated workforce and skilled trades. Be in the loop as we hear from the executives at the wheel of these major projects.
Speakers for the event include :
John Hafner
Competitive Power Ventures (CPV)
Will speak on the proposed natural gas power plant aimed at a 125-acre parcel in Handy Township, noth of Mason Road in Fowlerville. The proposed plant has the potential to power over 1 million homes in a cost-effective, environmentally responsible manner. The proximity of the proposed plant to the new Rover pipeline and Vector pipeline in the area as well as the International Transmission Co. high-voltage power lines make this an ideal site. CPV hopes to sell electricity to current energy cooperatives including DTE Energy and Consumers Energy which could improve efficiency to local homes and businesses. The plant would also create hundreds of jobs during construction and dozens for the long-term operation and maintenance too.
