Empowering Businesses Through Stronger Leaders:
Livingston County Chamber Alliance Opens Applications for Leadership Cohort Program

(Livingston County, Michigan) – Building on the success, Leadership Livingston is proud to announce that applications are now open for its third cohort. Leadership Livingston relaunched under the Chamber Alliance partnership in fall 2024 and since forty-five professionals have gone through the program. The Livingston County Chamber Alliance is excited to open applications for the third round of Leadership Livingston. This transformative program is designed for business owners, local leaders, and emerging professionals who want to develop essential leadership skills, expand their networks, and make a lasting impact on their organizations and the greater Livingston County community.

Employers increasingly recognize that strong leadership is key to organizational success, employee engagement, and long-term growth. Leadership Livingston equips participants with the tools to excel in strategic thinking, decision-making, conflict resolution, and communication—skills that are vital in today’s complex business environment. Through monthly, interactive sessions, participants gain real-world insights, engage with influential community and industry leaders, and explore a wide range of topics such as diversity, economic development, natural resources, and education.

The program’s graduates have already demonstrated its value, with participants benefiting from expert-led discussions, hands-on learning experiences, and exclusive access to regional leaders and policymakers. Signature components of the program include state capital tour, industry panels, and leadership assessments, all designed to foster well-rounded, forward-thinking professionals who are prepared to take on greater leadership responsibilities.

“Leadership Livingston classes exceeded all my expectations. From start to finish, the course was engaging, insightful, and incredibly practical. The instructor created a supportive and inspiring environment, encouraging participation and open dialogue that made every session feel dynamic and personal,” said Will Williamson, Business Services of Michigan Works and cohort participant. “What stood out most was how applicable the lessons were, not just in professional settings, but in day-to-day life as well. We covered everything from DISC Assessments and effective communication to strategic thinking and team motivation. The real-life interactive activities helped solidify the concepts and made them easy to remember and implement.”

Businesses that invest in leadership development see higher productivity, better decision-making, and stronger workplace cultures. Leadership Livingston helps employers cultivate a pipeline of skilled leaders who are equipped to drive innovation, manage teams effectively, and contribute to the region’s economic success. By enhancing leadership capabilities, the program delivers real value to both participants and the organizations they serve.

Originally launched in 1992 by Cleary University in partnership with the Brighton and Howell Chambers of Commerce, the program was refreshed and reintroduced in 2024 with a modernized curriculum tailored to today’s leadership challenges. The Livingston County Chamber Alliance—formed in 2021 by the Howell, Brighton, and Hartland Chambers of Commerce—remains committed to fostering leadership excellence and strengthening the fabric of the Greater Livingston community.
